Band2play is a free programm that converts chords, eg: (Am, D7, B7b9) to a MIDI playback file. It's a very simple programm with a powerful conversion engine programmed by Christoph Schröder.
You can chose a lot of different backing styles, like Jazz, Latin Jazz, Pop, ...

You may use it as a generator for playalongs for jazz standarts and improvisation, for singing, for generating any playback you want. You just need the chords.

This programm requires the Net Compact Framework 3.5 to be installed. You can download the Net Compact Framework for free here.

After the Compact Framework is installed, just run the setup file from the zip archiv in order to begin with the installation.

Band2Play was tested with Vista only.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

During the conversion it may come to problems by a denied writing access. To solve this problem you must run band2play in administrator mode:

Right-click on the band2play.exe in the installation folder and chose "Run as Administrator"

Now everything should work.
